Modern Warfare 2 has had two articles in a month at the British tabloid the Daily Star. The first article printed on the eleventh of October (one month before the games release, coincidence?) the other printed on a couple of days later covers the eagerly anticipated Prestige Edition competition.
In the first article it describes how this is one of the most eagerly awaited games in history, with stores having to hire extra staff around November and Christmas to cope with demand! It details how enemies will react using advanced gaming engines to make the combat zones as real life as possible. Like us hear at MW2 Gamer they to believe it will be one of the biggest games of all time.
The second article is far more tongue in cheek, accusing MW2 Gamers who bought the Prestige Edition of being doggers! I am not going into what dogging is here, needless to say I doubt many people who bought the Prestige Edition had dogging in mind when they purchased. The Daily Star must have scoured the forums for hours to find a couple of quotes from game enthusiasts who happened to mention what the goggles could potentially be used for. I would also question the opening line of the article, “Geeky computer game fans” I personally know many of my friends who pre-ordered the Prestige Ed. for the fact it is something different and will be pretty cool to own a pair of night vision goggles, how many people do you know with a pair??
Have a read of the articles yourself at http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/103035 and http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/103109/Goggles-on-for-a-pervy-night-out-/. One thing is for sure, Modern Warfare 2 is going to be sick!
